With the economy in a complete uproar, scarce jobs, along with me still being in debt and working half days due to hours being cut, I've been on a Financial Security plight. I want to get into the habit of managing my money correctly, building up a Savings account, & being completely debt free.
- I took the initiative to condense all my assets into one account.
- I'm using a Finance spreadsheet to track my Income, Expenses, Bills, & Savings.
- I'm selling clothes online on Ebay & Craigslist.
- I'm recycling cans & bottles.
- I'm not letting fast food chains get me for $60 a month in cheeseburgers and fries.
- I'm applying places for a nightly Summer position.
I am in total accordance with you! Lord, has the economy gotten worst in the past few months. I'm also in debt. I want to get rid of it, so I started to do the spreadsheet as well but on my phone. It's working so far except I am the only income in the house at the moment...
ReplyDeleteYay for recycling and cutting down on fast food. I started doing these 5 months ago and it does help a lot :]
I've also started doing the same thing. I'm really starting to cut back on eating out as well. That $60 a month you'd spend on eating out, I could easily spend in 3 days -- for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because I'm never home to actually cook. I'm trying to make the time to start cooking my lunches so I can save some money. So far, it's working out.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your finances!
